Our Glynn County Animal Services dog of the week is Shadow. Shadow is a handsome boy who has spent the majority of his short life either in a not so great home (from a cruelty case) or in the shelter. He did have a great foster home and was adopted, but sadly wasn’t a good fit for the family - which sometimes happens. Shadow does have some mouthiness, meaning he will nip a little or grab things with his mouth that he shouldn’t. His foster home said it’s fully playful, not aggressive and done in a very puppy-like manner. He just hasn’t learned this isn’t appropriate behavior yet because of being at the shelter during his critical puppy learning period. But with the right family, patience and training, we know he’ll easily catch up on those skills.
His former foster family isn’t available and Shadow is back at the shelter where he isn’t doing so well. He’s an AMAZING dog (aren’t they all?) and really deserves better than the hand he’s been dealt. Shadow suffers from kennel anxiety and could really use an adopter, foster, rescue or at the very least, some field trips to get out and about. Can you help? If you can’t do any of that, can you share to help him find his forever?

Located at 190 Carl Alexander Way in Brunswick, GA. Glynn County Animal Services can hold up to approximately 100 dogs and 90 cats at any given time and is often close to capacity. Without changes in legislation regarding spay and neuter or registration of our companion animals, the overpopulation problem will continue to rise. GCAS hopes to help educate the public and be part of the solution.
Glynn County Animal Services accepts strays and owner-surrendered dogs (when not at capacity) and also holds police confiscated dogs from criminal or cruelty cases.
