Simba

Simba is a 2-year-old neutered Great Dane–Shepherd mix with a big frame, an expressive face, and an even bigger heart. This handsome brown-and-tan boy is heartworm negative and ready to leave kennel life behind for good.

Simba came to the shelter with another dog and is likely dog-friendly. He loves people, enjoys his toys, and—impressively for a giant breed—walks beautifully on leash. When he’s out and about, he’s a total pro.

Shelter life, however, has been tough on Simba. He’s a sensitive guy with big feelings and makes it very clear that he prefers being close to his people rather than behind kennel bars. He recently tried apartment living and let everyone know he would much rather stretch out in a home where he can be part of the action. Simba isn’t meant for confinement—he’s meant for couches, rugs, and companionship.

Because of his size and personality, Simba would do best with someone who understands and appreciates giant breeds. That means more presence, more personality, and yes… probably a little more slobber—but also exponentially more love.

Simba arrived at Glynn County Animal Services in mid-January and is currently stressed in the shelter environment. He would greatly benefit from a foster or permanent home where he can decompress and show everyone what a wonderful companion he truly is.
